Hebrews 10:23
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess,
for he who promised is faithful.”
Every single day, we choose to put our trust in something.
It could be something small like trust that our car can take us to work or
trust that our package will be delivered to the right house. However, we also
have the choice to put our trust in something bigger, much beyond these small
temporary things. We can rely on God and His promises every day.
Deuteronomy 31:8 says, “The Lord himself goes before you and
will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do
not be discouraged.” We do not have to be concerned about putting our trust in
God. He will not abandon us or take back His words of promise. God is true to
His promises and is by our side, with us, through all the varying episodes and
seasons of life.
For some of us, it may be hard to fully put our trust in
promises. Fortunately, we can see how God has kept His promises to others. The
Bible gives us many stories that show our faith in God’s promises is not
misplaced. Many people throughout the Bible received the blessings of God's
fulfilled promises, including Noah, Abraham, David, Simeon, and the Israelites,
Elizabeth and Zechariah, Mary and Joseph, and the disciples.
If God kept his promises in the experiences of these biblical
characters, God will indeed keep his promises to us. So, in light of the
promises we looked at “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he
who promised is faithful." Amen.
Read through the list of Promises we have looked at
which one do you need to claim today?
