SUNDAY THOUGHTS

John 11:25-26

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”



According to the church calendar, Sundays are not actually part of the calculations of the 40 days of the Lenten season. Sunday remains as always, a reminder of Easter—a celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord—Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed!

So perhaps it is fitting on this day of Resurrection that we dwell for few moments on the Resurrection theme.

In this moment may we hear the good news that God loved the world, and that through faith in him we receive the gift of new life, that leads to everlasting life.

LET US PRAY

God of grace and glory, let our songs and imaginations raise to sing your praises for your love you have shown to all your creation in the gift of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

METEORIC LOVE

  JULY 5, 2024 I'm amazed at the human capacity for love. I will use myself as the case study. I have been blessed to have a beautiful and wonderful woman to love as my wife. When our first daughter was born, I was amazed to find that my heart expanded to a different channel of love. Some of you I am guessing know what I am talking about. My soul opened in a new way. When I thought I had expended all my love, along came children 2, 3, and 4. I would always wonder if I had the capacity to love more than I already did, could my heart expand more? Guess what my capacity for love kept growing. And now as a grandfather of 4, that love expands and expands with each one. I have said to my daughter about my Grandkids, “just when you think you have topped out your love for them,” which is quite substantial, "you spend an afternoon with them and your love for them grows again."
