Isaiah 58:11
11 The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
1) guide you continually,
2) satisfy your soul in drought,
3) strengthen your bones,
4) make you a flourishing garden, and
5) make you a never-failing spring of water.
Isn’t that an awesome promise!!
In keeping with our garden theme the last couple days, lets reflect for a moment on the promise God makes in Isaiah 58:11 to make us “like a well-watered garden.”
When you imagine a watered garden, what do you see?
In my mind’s eye, I see the watered garden, a beautiful tapestry of diverse shades of green leaves and stems, along with all different colored flowers.
The word that comes to mind is LIFE. A well-watered garden brings forth life. Psalm 1 promises that the individual who delights and meditates on God’s law will “be like a tree planted by the rivers of
water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” Psalm 1:3. The prophet Jeremiah said, “blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.” Jeremiah 17:8.

These are the promises that our Faithful God makes to us, his people. Read and reread these promises over the weekend, let them sink into your spirit. Go to your favorite garden spot, in your yard, or a public garden, and as you taken the scene remind your self of the beautiful life God promises to you, to make you like a well-watered garden.
LET US PRAY
God, Your promises are very precious and are new every morning, great is Your faithfulness. Thank You that You lead and guide me at all times and that You are the only refreshment my spirit needs. As I face today, I pray that new showers of Your sufficient grace will water my weary soul so that like a well-watered garden I may point to your abundant life. May rivers of Your living waters may flow through me to others who are in need of Your life and grace. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
