Haggai 1:9
9“You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why?” declares the Lord Almighty. “Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house.
John 14:15
15 “If you love me, keep my commands.
Psalm 119:105
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Start Now
In what ways does your life exceed your own expectations?
In what ways do you feel your life has fallen short of your expectations?
The time is now! What one change can you make right now to bring honor and glory to God?
It’s not going to be an easy step or you would have already taken it.
Easy steps are not always the right steps. To get your spiritual house in order, ask God to reveal what difficult step you need to stop putting off.
In our Sunday talk last week, we discussed choosing the hard right over the easy wrong.
Some examples we gave were,
·
It’s easy to keep a sin secret.
It’s hard and right to confess and ask for help.
· It’s easy to hold a grudge. It’s
hard and right to forgive.
·
It’s easy to follow a crowd.
It’s hard and right to not conform.
·
It’s easy to quit. It’s hard
and right to press through with His strength.
REFLECT
What action step will you take before the week is over?
Hint:
THINK about what your three steps to laying a new
foundation—based on Haggai 1:8—might look like.
Go Up to the Mountain
Bring Down the Timber
Build My House
