Make Some Noise

September 11, 2026

Opening Prayer

Lord, as this new day begins, attune our hearts to Your leading.

Teach us to follow You with trust, with patience, and with joy.  Amen.

Bible Reading

Psalm 150

“Let everything that breathes praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!”

Reflection

I love the way Psalm 150 ends the book of Psalms. After all the joy, sadness, questions, struggles, fears, and celebrations found throughout the Psalms, it comes down to one simple invitation:

Praise the Lord.

And sometimes, we all need that reminder.

It’s easy for us to move through our day without really noticing what God is doing. We get busy. We focus on what needs fixing. We think about tomorrow instead of paying attention to what’s right in front of us.

But Psalm 150 reminds us to stop and look around.

Maybe it’s a beautiful sunrise.
A good cup of coffee.
A conversation with someone they love.
A laugh that catches them by surprise.
An answered prayer.
Or simply the gift of another day.

These ordinary moments can become reminders of an extraordinary God.

Praise the Lord! Where?

Wherever we are.

We don’t have to be in church to worship God. We can praise him while walking, driving, working, cooking, or sitting quietly at home.

Praise the Lord! Why?

Because God is good.
Because he has been faithful.
Because even when life is difficult, he has never stopped being God.

And how can we praise him?

Psalm 150 says, “Make some noise!”

We can sing.
We can pray.
We can speak words of gratitude.
We can serve someone.

Or we can simply stop for a moment and say:

“Thank you, God, for this moment.”

Today, we can pay a little more attention.

Breathe a little deeper.
Notice the good things.
Recognize God’s presence.
And give him the praise he deserves.

After all, “Let everything that breathes praise the Lord.”

That includes us.

So today, go ahead—make some noise.

Let our lives become instruments of praise.

Prayer

Lord, help me slow down today and notice your goodness.

Thank you for the blessings I sometimes take for granted. Help me to see your presence in the ordinary moments of my day.

Give me a grateful heart, and let my words, my actions, and my life bring you praise.

Amen.
