Isaiah 40:30-31
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and
fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar
on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not
be faint.
The word trust means “firm belief in the reliability or in
the ability of someone or something”. In everything we do in life, our
confidence is drawn from the source of where our trust lies.
The Bible clearly says that those who put their trust in the Lord will renew their strength and soar on wings like eagles. When we put our trust in the Lord, we are not laboring in our ability, but rather we are thriving in the ability of God.
Isaiah 40 teaches us that those whose trust and hope is in
God will “run and will not grow weary,
they will walk and will not faint”. The truth revealed here is that the
strength that comes from our God will keep us going, and will fill us with
peace, and give us comfort and confidence. The strength that God gives, fills us
with grace, it gives us new hope, makes us bold, and it heals.
No wonder that Isaiah 40 above describes the faith filled,
trusting, and hoping God worshipper as people with renewed strength who "will
soar on wings like eagles."
Are we soaring? Today let us take a moment to reflect on where
our trust is, or better put, Who we trust. May our decision today be to trust
God’s ability in everything and let God renew our strength, so that we
may soar!
