Matthew 24:35
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”
Reflection
In today's verse Jesus reminds us that everything in this created order is temporary. Mountains erode, cities fall, seasons change, and as we know all to well, even our lives are fleeting. Yet, Matthew 24:35 emphasizes that God's words stand beyond time and decay. When we place our trust and hope in God's truth and promises that are revealed to us in the Bible, the foundation of our life is based on what will remain when all else has gone.
This truth changes how we approach our days. The comforts, fleeting trends, and even our serious responsibilities all fade with time. But spending time in God’s Word is different—it produces lasting, eternal results. Letting Scripture speak into our heart is a wise enduring investment in the life God has planned for us.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You that Your words endure when everything else fades. Help us to value Your Word above passing trends and temporary gains. Teach us to read it with reverence, to meditate on it with hunger, and to obey it with courage. Helps us to hide your word in our hearts so we may stand firm in your truth, even when the world shifts and changes. Amen.
