FATHER KNOWS BEST

This Weeks Theme Verse

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to Him
and He will make your paths straight.”

Matthew 6:7-15

And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

“This, then, is how you should pray:
“ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Have you ever felt like you had to say the right words for God to hear you? I have, for a long time a great hindrance to my spiritual growth and especially my prayer life was that I did feel I prayed using the proper words. Maybe you have wondered at times in your life if your prayers really matter. Jesus reminds us that prayer isn’t about performance, it’s about connection. God already knows what’s on our heart and wants us to come to Him as we are. Jesus says so, "your Father knows what you need before you ask him." What would it look like to let go of the pressure to pray the "perfect words", or to have all things spiritual together, and simply trust that God is listening?

Jesus teaches us the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:7-15, emphasizing humility, trust, and forgiveness. Prayer is not about performance but about surrendering our needs and aligning our life with God’s will.

I invite you to pray the Lord’s Prayer slowly today,
pausing after each phrase to reflect and release your worries into God’s hands.
